Koralevics Rita (1979) graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts as a graphic artist. I am an artist, a mother of a wonderful girl and a wife of a real partner. I’m happy that I found my inspiration and passion in Budapest, in the heart of Europe, where I was born and raised.
I’ve always been interested in art, I studied the subject and worked a lot with print and graphic design. I started my journey with paper during my college years, although it took me a while discovering this unique technik and execution. My products are more than handmade functional objects from recycled paper, I offer tailor made service for my clients, making sure they find the perfect missing elements for their needs.
In 2013 I created the composite, called paper pulp and founded Paper Up!, the brand. Following the new chapter in 2016, when paper cement products were born, which carry the potential for innovative solutions in home furnishings. Besides the constant improvement of new innovations and trends, throughout the work process I focus on the unique character, the practical functions and a well planned approach. As a result, the way of production has changed, production has accelerated and new alternatives have emerged to expand the product range. My work is mostly determined by the raw material, which makes it recognizable and unique. The shapes are varied, both in size and color. I also plan for an individual order, for which close cooperation is essential.
Paper Up! objects are made from high-quality paper waste. Individual collections include both utility and decorative objects, from small bowls, holder through vases, pendant lamps and smaller furniture. I carry out every part of the work process, which requires constant learning of new technical skills, adequate material knowledge which broadens my perspective, possibilities and artistic field as well. Experimenting on its own is a very inspiring factor, that’s why I create my objects in small series. Shapes and the images change frequently, material choices and solutions are unique. The final objects represent typical handicraft features and therefore a unique character.
The new material- Papercement
Based on my previous experiences, a new product line was born in autumn 2016: the paper-cement products provide answers to many open questions and challanges. Besides the fact that these objects preserve the beauty of paper, combined with the heat and water resistance of cement, its light weight is complemented by the strength of the cement. My short term plans are based on this innovation.
